What is CMO?
A song doesn’t come with instructions.
CMO leaves room for the part that happens after the music starts.
What you hear, what you recognize, and where your mind takes it.
There is no right way to hear it.
A song can be about one thing when it starts, and something completely different by the time it reaches you.
The song ends. The story doesn’t.
CMO doesn’t tell you what a song means. It leaves something behind: a line, a moment, a question. What happens with it after that is yours.
The words and the music don’t have to agree.
A quiet thought can arrive with a wall of sound. A heavy line can sit inside something bright. Sometimes they meet. Sometimes they don’t. Neither one has to explain the other.
You don’t have to catch every word.
You can follow the lyrics. You can disappear into the music. You can do both, or neither. The song doesn’t stop working because you listened differently.
Take what you hear. Leave the rest.
There’s no answer hidden at the end. No lesson you’re supposed to find. If one line stays with you, that can be enough.
